Gender and Biodiversity Training Course
Introduction
Gender and biodiversity are deeply interconnected in shaping sustainable development, climate resilience, and ecosystem conservation. Across the globe, women, men, and marginalized groups interact differently with natural resources due to gender roles, power dynamics, and access inequalities. Integrating gender-responsive approaches into biodiversity conservation enhances inclusive decision-making, strengthens community-based natural resource management, and ensures equitable benefit-sharing. This course explores how gender equality can drive nature-based solutions, protect ecosystems, and support climate adaptation strategies.
With increasing global focus on frameworks such as the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework, there is urgent demand for gender-transformative policies and intersectional conservation strategies. Gender and Biodiversity Training Course equips participants with tools to apply gender analysis, inclusive governance, and rights-based approaches in biodiversity programs. It bridges theory and practice through case studies, participatory methods, and digital tools, enabling stakeholders to design impactful, equitable, and sustainable biodiversity initiatives.
