Global Health Diplomacy Training Course
Introduction
Global Health Diplomacy (GHD) is a rapidly evolving field at the intersection of international relations, public health, global governance, and policy negotiation, designed to address complex transnational health challenges such as pandemics, health inequities, climate-related health risks, and cross-border disease control. In an increasingly interconnected world shaped by globalization, geopolitical tensions, and health security threats, the demand for skilled professionals in health diplomacy, global health governance, and multilateral negotiation has never been greater. Global Health Diplomacy Training Course equips participants with strategic competencies to engage in WHO-led initiatives, UN health systems, global health partnerships, and bilateral/multilateral health agreements.
The course provides a comprehensive understanding of how health is used as a diplomatic instrument in foreign policy, trade negotiations, humanitarian response, and global security frameworks. Participants will explore how nations and international organizations collaborate to strengthen universal health coverage (UHC), pandemic preparedness, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and global health security architecture. Through case-driven learning and simulation exercises, learners develop the ability to influence policy decisions, negotiate effectively in global forums, and design equitable health interventions in resource-constrained and politically sensitive environments.
